Port Natal Bowls Colours

The official district colours, as stated in the Constitution are navy blue and old gold. The Executive shall be the final arbiters pertaining to the granting of and as to the right to wear official Port Natal Bowls (PNB) colours, casual wear and windbreakers to the Officials, Standing Committee Members, Players, Team Managers and Salaried Staff. The Executive shall approve any changes to the design and colours of official clothing.

Badges

Pocket Badge
The pocket badge shall bear an emblem depicting the statue of Dick King in Old Gold together with the words “PORT NATAL BOWLS”

Executive Metal Lapel Badge
The metal lapel badge shall be of similar design to the pocket badge and shall bear the words “PORT NATAL BOWLS” around the statue with the Designation of Office

Honours Metal Lapel Badge
shall be of similar design with a laurel wreath surrounding the badge and the word “Honours” on a scroll beneath the badge. Honours badges are to be presented to; Members of the District who have been presented with full South African playing colours and officially represented South Africa at an international event. To anyone, whom, at the discretion the Executive, is considered worthy of honour

Clothing

Blazer
The official blazer shall be a single breasted Navy Blue blazer.

Tie
The tie shall be Navy Blue with the emblem of the Association thereon.

Trousers
Tailored Navy Blue longs or Shorts.

Shirts
White dress shirts when worn with a tie and blazer Sport shirts must contain a combination of the official colours and all designs are to be approved by the Executive.

Windbreakers – Executive and Standing Committees
The official Executive windbreakers shall be predominantly Navy Blue with Yellow panels, the badge of the Association embroidered on the left breast and the office held depicted in a scroll below the badge.

Windbreakers – Players and Managers
The windbreaker for Representative Players and Managers shall be predominantly Navy Blue with Yellow and White panels and the badge of the Association embroidered on the left breast.

Shoes
Dress shoes for the Executive shall be black Playing shoes shall conform to the Bowls SA regulations.

Wearing of Colours

The Colours and Insignia of PNB shall, on election, appointment or selection, be worn exclusively by:

  • Honorary PNB Life Members
  • The PNB President whilst in office. On vacating office the President shall be presented with a pocket badge and metal lapel badge, both suitably inscribed with his position and years served.
  • The Vice-President and Members of the Executive whilst in office
  • Standing Committee Members whilst in office shall be entitled to wear a PNB shirt and windbreaker denoting the office held
  • The PNB Administration Manager and Competition Secretary whilst employed by PNB

Note

  • On relinquishing their positions on the Executive or Standing Committees, the members shall return badges of office to the Administration Manager, these being the property of PNB.
  • The Executive may, with the approval of Council, grant the right to continue to wearing PNB colours to any past Executive Member or Administration Manager who has rendered special services to PNB

Players and Team Managers
Players who have been selected to represent PNB in official events as designated by the Executive shall have the right to wear PNB colours and insignia denoting representative honours. Where there is a choice of styles of clothing then all players in the side must be dressed uniformly. .

Maintenance of Registers
The Administration Manager shall maintain an up-to-date register of all who have been granted the privilege of wearing PNB colours.
